The deceiver speaks with confidence, while the deceived listens without questioning. The deceiver presents darkness as light, falsehood as truth, and destruction as prosperity. But there is a limit to how long deception can continue.
THE TIME IS COMING WHEN THE DECEIVED WILL BE WISER THAN THE DECEIVER.
Why?
Because God is awakening those who have been blinded.
The Bible says:
«“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
— John 8:32»
A person may be deceived for a season, but deception cannot permanently withstand the light of truth.
The deceiver may manipulate the mind, but God can open the eyes.
The deceiver may hide the truth, but God can reveal it.
The deceiver may lead people into darkness, but the entrance of God's Word brings light.
«“The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.”
— Psalm 119:130»
There will come a moment when the person who once believed every lie begins to ask questions.
The person who once followed blindly begins to discern.
The person who once depended on human voices begins to search the Scriptures.
The person who once called evil good begins to recognize evil.
The person who once accepted deception as truth begins to say:
“I have been deceived.”
And that moment can become the beginning of freedom.
The Bible gives us a serious warning:
«“For there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears.”
— 2 Timothy 4:3»
Not everyone who speaks confidently speaks the truth.
Not everyone who carries a Bible understands the Bible.
Not everyone who says “Thus says the Lord” has actually heard from the Lord.
And not everything that looks spiritual is from God.
That is why Scripture commands us:
«“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God.”
— 1 John 4:1»
Discernment is becoming increasingly important.
We must stop measuring truth by popularity.
We must stop measuring truth by numbers.
We must stop measuring truth by eloquence.
We must stop accepting something simply because a respected person said it.
The standard remains the Word of God.
Jesus warned:
«“Take heed that no man deceive you.”
— Matthew 24:4»
Notice that Jesus did not say deception would disappear. He warned His followers to be careful because deception would become a serious spiritual danger.
But here is the hope:
The deceived do not have to remain deceived.
When the light of God's Word enters a person's heart, ignorance begins to lose its power.
When the Holy Spirit opens the eyes, manipulation begins to lose its grip.
When truth is embraced, chains begin to break.
And when a generation begins to search for truth instead of simply following voices, the deceived can become wiser than the deceiver.
«“But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you... and is truth, and is no lie.”
— 1 John 2:27»
So, before you believe, test.
Before you follow, discern.
Before you accept, search the Scriptures.
Before you repeat, verify.
And above all, ask God for wisdom.
«“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not.”
— James 1:5»
The greatest victory over deception is not merely discovering that you were deceived.
It is discovering the truth and refusing to be deceived again.
The deceiver may be clever.
The deceiver may be influential.
The deceiver may be powerful.
But truth will always have the final word.
The eyes of the deceived can open.
The mind of the deceived can awaken.
The heart of the deceived can return to God.
And when that happens—
THE DECEIVED MAY BECOME WISER THAN THE DECEIVER.
“And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment.”
— Philippians 1:9
🙏 Lord, open our eyes. Give us discernment. Deliver us from every deception, and give us the wisdom to recognize truth, reject falsehood, and remain faithful to You. In Jesus' name. Amen.
